Program/Service Notes

The C.A.R.E. program offers the following services: 1. Public Preschool Screenings throughout Vermilion County - continuous screening program for young children from birth to age 5. 2. Classroom Program - 4 days a week, Tuesday through Friday, 2.5 hour sessions AM 5 days/week Monday-Friday 2.5 hour sessions PM. 3. Parent Programming - Regular monthly programming for all families; special programming provided by staff as scheduled. 4. Play Groups - For children on the waiting list, their siblings and families and other families in the community. Every Monday AM CARE sites in Danville hold play group - Parent interaction times in the CARE classroom. Other services offered are: * Free transportation * Breakfast provided for children attending morning sessions and lunch for children attending afternoon sessions in Danville, snacks provided in the county schools * Home visits give parents an opportunity to talk individually with a trained staff member * Play groups for parents and younger siblings * Opportunity to volunteer in the classroom to see your child's development * Periodic check-ups of your child's intellectual, language, motor and social development * Information and guidance to empower parents for the important role of parenting * Opportunity to share with and learn from other parents * Effective linkages between schools, social service agencies, and families with young children
