Child Care Resource Service (CCRS), one of the state child care resource and referral agencies, assists parents in locating child care; helps eligible families receive assistance paying for child care; provides technical assistance, training, and resources to current child care providers and those pursuing a career in child care; and maintains the most current data available on child care supply and demand in East Central Illinois. A. Services for Parents: * Professional assistance in evaluating child care needs * Current and detailed information on child care options, including: - child care centers - family child care homes - nursery schools - Head Start programs - before and after school programs - summer programs for children - resources for finding an in-home provider - back-up solutions child care program/Champaign office only * Child care subsidy information and administration of payment assistance for qualified families * Guidelines and resource material for selecting quality care, including what to look for and what questions to ask. B. Services for Child Care Provider * Updated referrals to parents about program openings * Training workshops and resource material on working with children and families * Resource libraries for child care providers * Technical assistance on becoming a family child care provider or opening a center program * Data for program planning on current demand for child care * newsletter "In-Touch" * Administration of Department of Human Service child care subsidy programs * Nurse consultant * Quality Counts Van Program * Quality Counts Grant Program C. Services for Business and the Community * Specialized referral services for employees * Presentations on child care options and quality care * Parenting seminars on child care issues * Data reports on local child care supply and demand * Stimulation of child care services in areas of demand
