Program/Service Notes
The Food Pantry attempts to provide food to needy people who lack resources to purchase basic food items to meet their nutritional needs. Program requirements are: 1. All applicants must provide following information with each visit: * Picture ID * Social Security Card or other form of ID for each household member * Proof of current residence 2. All applicants must sign a release of information statement to allow the caseworker to ascertain eligibility. 3. Emergency/Crisis needs must be demonstrated for each visit. Living on a fixed income does not constitute an emergency. 4. Clients can only receive emergency services once in a 60 day time period. 5. The Danville Area Food Pantry is not intended to supplement food stamps. However, in case of emergency, verified by an Illinois Department of Public Aid caseworker, assistance may be granted. 6. Persons who fraudulently use the Food Pantry, or give false information to receive food, will be ineligible for at least 6 months. 7. Persons who are eligible must apply at the Food Pantry during hours of operation. 8. All applicants have the right to appeal any decision.
