The United Samaritans Medical Center Foundation offers various services both for the Medical Center and the Community. They are: - Fund raising through grant writing, special events, and membership donation drive. * Festival of Trees * It's All in the Jeans Campaign - Supports employee C.U.E. club and help services. - Sponsors community wellness initiatives: Faith In Action, FIA, South, HALO Project, Women Aware, Young Women's Aware and I Sing the Body Electric. - SERF: assists employees in a number of financial burdens up to a maximum of $300 once every 12 months. Most requests center around the following: - Times of illness - Crisis in family - Disaster to employee's living situation - Other needs as deemed appropriate Examples of relief funded by the SERF Committee are: Power bill assistance, rent, mortgage, insurance deductibles, rent deposits, health insurance premiums, special needs in the family, etc. Call the USMC Foundation office and ask to speak to the SERF Coordinator. An application must be filled out and sent to the USMC Foundation Office. Process time is 10-14 days. Applications can be picked up at the USMC Foundation office, Human Resources, and Pastoral Care Office. This is not an emergency fund program. - Patient Visitor Program: Overnight motel cost, gas, transportation, meals, etc. - Prescription Assistance: Prescription cost assistance for patients. Administered by Case Management Department at the Medical Center. - Various other community initiatives.
