Eligibility: Must be 16 yrs. old; out of traditional school, and read below the 9th grade level. Volunteer tutors must be H.S. grads

Program/Service Notes

The Reader's Route program provides reading tutors for adults who read below the 9th grade level. There are 72 sites throughout the community college district where tutors and students can meet in privacy to work on reading skills. Tutors from the Reader's Route receive 12 hours of intensive training in adult teaching methods before they are assigned a student. The Reader's Route was recently accredited by the Literacy Volunteers of America.
