Your Personal Information
Your privacy is very important to United Way of Danville Area, Inc (UWDA). We recognize that visitors to our site may be concerned about the information they provide to us, and how we treat that information. United Way of Danville Area, Inc. values and protects your privacy and places strict controls on the gathering and use of personally identifiable data. Your personal data is never collected by our website. The personally identifiable information we collect from individuals is only the information they provide to us voluntarily and knowingly; we do not require you to register or provide information to us in order to visit the public portion of our site.
UWDA only gathers personally identifiable data: addresses, zip codes, e-mail addresses, etc. when voluntarily submitted by a visitor. For example, personally identifiable information may be collected in order to record a stated desire to donate online to UWDA via a direct gift. This information is used solely by United Way for the purpose of executing the transaction. Online donations are collected through Harness Giving and then processed through Stripe payment processing platform. Your personal information is not disclosed, made available, or otherwise used for purposes other than those specified at the time of collection, except with your consent or as authorized by law or regulation. If you supply your email address, we may contact you for additional information or send you updates about how donations are being put to use in our community, such as our newsletter. You can contact us to restrict our use of your contact information at any time. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties. UWDA lists are never sold to third parties.
We use the information you provide about yourself when donating only to record that donation so that we can acknowledge your gift to our community. We do not share this information with outside parties without the donor’s authorization.
