BECOME A CHEF

United We Cook is a unique culinary event that brings together chefs, food lovers, and community members to celebrate incredible dishes for a great cause. With only 100 chefs allowed to participate, this event offers a special opportunity to showcase your culinary skills, share your signature recipes, and make a meaningful impact in our community. Whether you're an experienced chef or a passionate home cook, United We Cook is the perfect chance to cook for a crowd while supporting United Way of Danville Area!

Becoming a Chef FAQs:

  • Chefs are required to attend a brief (45 minutes) food safety course with the Vermilion County Health Department.

  • Chefs are required to prepare their food in a Health Department Approved Kitchen, with exception to those chefs serving shelf-stable dishes that fall under the Cottage Law. The Vermilion County Health Department reviews our list of chefs, kitchens and recipes and they will make the final call on which chefs are required to cook in an approved kitchen.

  • Chefs are responsible to provide the ingredients for their dish and any required serving paper products. United Way provides silverware and dinner napkins. If your dish requires ice, you will need to bring ice in a cooler.

  • There will be no ice on the Arena floor at this event!

  • Chefs are encouraged to decorate their stations!

  • Please fill out your recipe and ingredients completely. Your recipe will be printed as input here- be sure to include measurements AND instructions.

  • Please reach to Annie Monyok with any questions! 217-504-6368 or at annie@monyokleadership.com.
